St. Elizabeth School is currently seeking applicants for the following positions:

Music Teacher
Permanent, Immediate, Full-Time

ResponsibilitiesThe music teacher is responsible for the implementation of the school’s curriculum in music education.  Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.

Requirements

  • BA/BS from an accredited institution required.  MA/M.Ed highly desired.

  • Relevant Maryland State teaching certification preferred.

  • Mastery of and enthusiasm for the subject matter as well as teaching across disciplines.

  • Experience teaching music to students with learning disabilities and behavior challenges a plus. 

  • Well-established communication and collaboration skills with a desire to work on a team. 

  • Willingness to both learn and lead through feedback. 

  • Reasoning ability:  Very high skills in defining problems, collecting data and drawing conclusions. 

  • Physical demands include ability to regularly stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms and talk/hear; occasionally lift/move up to 15 pounds.

Social Worker
Immediate, Permanent, Full-Time

ResponsibilitiesProvide clinical services in a nonpublic special education school setting for students with autism and other developmental and/or psychiatric diagnoses. Responsibilities include individual/group therapy for children and adolescents and participation on an interdisciplinary team. Applicants with experience and interest in providing case management and interventions for students with autism and support for their families are encouraged to apply.

Requirements: Maryland State Licensure: LCSW-C or LGSW (clinical supervision provided), as well as successful completion of a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening.

Speech-Language Pathologist
Permanent, Immediate, Full-Time

ResponsibilitiesConduct assessments, treatment planning and therapeutic interventions in an interdisciplinary environment integrated into classrooms and other activities as well as by using the pull-out model. Co-treating and co-teaching options available, as well as individual and small group therapy models. Work with a team of SLP’s, special educators, and other related service providers in a positive, collaborative and engaging private, nonpublic school setting.

Requirements

Classroom Assistant (Special Education)
Full-Time

Responsibilities: May serve as a teaching assistant, program assistant or one-to-one assistant. Assist with classroom preparation, organization, instruction, behavior management, and support of students throughout the school day to create a positive learning atmosphere.

Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree preferred; AA degree or equivalent credit count or successful completion of the ParaPro assessment acceptable; some experience with special populations preferred; successful completion of a drug screening and Criminal Background Check.
