Middle School Math Teacher
Full Time, Permanent Position - Available July 1, 2023
St. Elizabeth School is seeking a skilled and dedicated Middle School Math Teacher to join our team. St. Elizabeth School is a nonpublic, special education school serving students grades 1 – 12, ages 6 – 21. As a teacher at St. Elizabeth School, you will play a crucial role in providing quality education to our students and have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on their lives by creating a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters academic growth.
FUNCTION:
-
Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated math lessons that align with the curriculum and meet the diverse needs of our students.

Demonstrate an understanding of the curriculum, subject content, pedagogical knowledge, and the needs of the students by providing relevant learning experiences.
-
Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and resources to accommodate different learning styles and abilities, including visual aids, manipulatives and assistive technology.
-
Develop and implement academic goals and objectives in accordance with the student’s Individual Educational Plans (IEPs), monitor student progress toward meeting their academic goals, and participate in IEP meetings when necessary.

Ensure full implementation of Individual Educational Plans (IEPs) for caseload students, including but not limited to implementation of accommodations, Behavior Intervention Plans, and other related services.

Provide ongoing feedback and support to students to facilitate their understanding of math concepts and skills.
-
Collaborate with other special education teachers, related service providers, and support staff to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive educational experience for students.
-
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and academic progress and communicate regularly with parents, guardians and others as needed regarding student performance and behavior.
-
Create a positive and inclusive, student-centered, academic learning environment that promotes mutual respect, encourages student participation, and fosters a love for learning.
REQUIREMENTS:
-
Bachelor degree in Education, Mathematics, or related field. (Master’s degree preferred).
-
Valid Maryland state teaching certification in Special Education (or ability to obtain certification).
-
Experience teaching in a special education setting with knowledge of and experience with differentiating instruction for students with special needs, including those with learning disabilities, emotional/behavioral disorders, and other exceptionalities preferred.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with students, parents, and colleagues.
-
Ability to use technology and other instructional resources to enhance student learning.
-
Patience, empathy and a passion for working with students with special needs.
-
All candidates pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening.

Willingness to drive personal vehicle and/or school vehicle for school purposes, preferred.

Classroom Assistant/ParaProfessional
Immediate, Full Time, Permanent Position
St. Elizabeth School is a nonpublic, special education school serving students grades 1 – 12, ages 6- 21. The School is seeking a Classroom Assistant to join our dynamic team.
The starting pay for Classroom Assistants is between $26,400-$28,200 (non-degreed), $28,200-$29,900 (Associate’s degree), or $29,900-$31,700 (Bachelor’s degree). Classroom Assistants have guaranteed hours and are paid for snow days, school holidays, winter and spring break, and additional other non-working days during the 11-month school year.
May serve as a teaching assistant, program assistant, and/or one-to-one assistant.
FUNCTION:
Assists with:

Escort and monitor students during the change of class

Behavior management and student support throughout the school day

Attend and participate in general staff meetings, weekly team meetings, conferences and in-services.

Speech Language Pathologist
ABOUT US: St. Elizabeth School, a nonpublic, special education school serving students grades 1 – 12, ages 6- 21, is seeking aSpeech Language Pathologist to join our dynamic team.
FUNCTION:
· Conduct assessments, treatment plans, and therapeutic interventions in an interdisciplinary environment integrated into classrooms, school-related activities, as well as via the pull-out model.
· Co-treating and co-teaching options available, as well as individual and small group therapy models.
· Work with a team of SLP’s, special educators, and other related service providers in a positive, collaborative and engaging private, nonpublic school setting.
REQUIREMENTS:
Educational Experience: Masters in Speech-Language Pathology or Communicative Sciences and Disorders.
Licensure: Limited License or Active Maryland SLP license. CCC-SLP and ASHA certification

Current working knowledge of SLP therapies and practices.

Ability to practice patience, compassion and enthusiasm to motivate students during challenging treatments and encourage improvement.
