ParaProfessional

Immediate, Full Time, Permanent Position

FUNCTION:​

ParaProfessional staff support teachers with the implementation of instruction aimed at helping students with special needs reach their full potential.  A Classroom Assistant may fulfill the role of a Teaching Assistant, Program Assistant or 1:1 aide.  Responsibilities include:   

  • Working with students to adapt classroom activities in a manner that supports IEP goals and objectives,

  • Helping students achieve their academic, social and behavioral goals in accordance with their FBA/BIP; 

  • Assisting students with daily life skills which may include toileting, meals, and lifting;

  • Assisting students on/off busses and escort/monitor students during class change;

  • Accurate and detailed data collection/record keeping

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

High School Diploma or higher.  Applicants must successfully pass a drug screening, criminal background check and have a valid Maryland driver’s license. 

 

NOTE:
Starting at $17/hour for candidates with a Bachelor’s degree and starting at $15/hour for candidates without a 4-year degree.
Candidates without a college degree are strongly encouraged to apply but will need to pass the PARAPRO Assessment to be considered for employment if they have earned fewer than 48 college credit hours

Social Worker/Counselor

Immediate, Full Time, Permanent Position

FUNCTION:​

Provide clinical services in a nonpublic special education school setting for students with autism and other developmental and/or psychiatric diagnoses. Responsibilities include individual/group therapy for children and adolescents and participation on an interdisciplinary team. Applicants with experience and interest in providing case management and interventions for students with autism and support for their families are encouraged to apply.

REQUIREMENTS: 

Maryland State Licensure: Applicants with an LMSW, LCSW-C, LGPC, or LCPC are welcome to apply. A criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening are required prior to employment.

Occupational Therapist
Immediate, Part-Time Position Available- 3 Days per Week

 

ABOUT US: St. Elizabeth School, a nonpublic, special education school serving students grades 1 – 12, ages 6- 21, is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic team.


As an Occupational Therapist at St. Elizabeth School you will:
•    Work with other occupational therapists and COTAs providing direct and indirect services to students as required by IEPs.
•    Prepare for and attend IEP meetings.
•    Maintain communication with students’ core team members and students' parents/guardians.
•    Be part of an interdixciplinary team that makes a difference in the lives of our students.


REQUIREMENTS:

•    Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapist (OT) program - New graduates welcome.
•    Current Maryland State Occupational Therapy License
•    Experience in pediatrics or special education and/or sensory integration helpful, but will train.
•    All candidates must pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening.

Speech Language Pathologist
 

ABOUT US: St. Elizabeth School, a nonpublic, special education school serving students grades 1 – 12, ages 6- 21, is seeking aSpeech Language Pathologist to join our dynamic team.

 

FUNCTION:

· Conduct assessments, treatment plans, and therapeutic interventions in an interdisciplinary environment integrated into classrooms, school-related activities, as well as via the pull-out model.

· Co-treating and co-teaching options available, as well as individual and small group therapy models.

· Work with a team of SLP’s, special educators, and other related service providers in a positive, collaborative and engaging private, nonpublic school setting.



REQUIREMENTS:

Educational Experience: Masters in Speech-Language Pathology or Communicative Sciences and Disorders.

Licensure: Limited License or Active Maryland SLP license. CCC-SLP and ASHA certification

  • Knowledge, Skills, Ability:

  • Current working knowledge of SLP therapies and practices.

  • Ability to practice patience, compassion and enthusiasm to motivate students during challenging treatments and encourage improvement.

  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills.

  • Results-oriented with strong critical thinking and problem solving.

  • Tech-savvy with the ability to learn quickly.

  • All candidates must be willing to drive their own vehicle or school vehicle for school purposes as well as pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening.
