High School Math Teacher
Permanent, Full-Time Position - Available July 1, 2025
​
St. Elizabeth School is seeking a skilled and dedicated High School Math Teacher to join our team. St. Elizabeth School is a nonpublic, special education school serving students grades 1 through 12, ages 6 through 21. As a teacher at St. Elizabeth School, you will play a crucial role in providing quality education to our students and have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on their lives by creating a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters academic growth.
FUNCTION:
-
Plan and deliver instruction in Algebra I, Geometry, and Statistics that aligns with the curriculum and meet the diverse needs of our students.
-
Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and resources to accommodate different learning styles and abilities, including visual aids, manipulatives and assistive technology.
-
Develop and implement academic goals and objectives in accordance with the student’s Individual Educational Plans (IEPs), monitor student progress toward meeting their academic goals, and participate in IEP meetings when necessary.
-
Ensure full implementation of Individual Educational Plans (IEPs) for caseload students, including but not limited to implementation of accommodations, Behavior Intervention Plans, and other related services.

Assess and provide ongoing feedback and support to students to facilitate their understanding of high school level math concepts and skills.
-
Collaborate with other special education teachers, related service providers, and support staff to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive educational experience for students.
-
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and academic progress and communicate regularly with parents, guardians and others as needed regarding student performance and behavior.

Create a positive and inclusive, student-centered, academic learning environment that promotes mutual respect, encourages student participation, and fosters a love for learning.
REQUIREMENTS:
-
Bachelor degree in Education, Mathematics, or related field. (Master’s degree preferred).
-
Valid Maryland state teaching certification in Special Education (or ability to obtain certification).
-
Experience teaching in a special education setting with knowledge of and experience with differentiating instruction for students with special needs, including those with learning disabilities, emotional/behavioral disorders, and other exceptionalities preferred.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with students, parents, and colleagues.
-
Ability to use technology and other instructional resources to enhance student learning.
-
Patience, empathy and a passion for working with students with special needs.
-
All candidates pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening.

Willingness to drive personal vehicle and/or school vehicle for school purposes, preferred.

Physical Education Teacher
Permanent, Full-Time Position Available

FUNCTION:

Plan and implement engaging instructional programs with clear objectives in line with curriculum
and state standards.

Motivate each student to cultivate physical fitness and social/emotional skills development in a
movement-rich learning environment.

Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and resources to accommodate different learning
styles and abilities, including visual aids, manipulatives, and assistive technology, to meet the
needs of all students.

Ensure full implementation of Individual Educational Plans (IEPs) for students, including but not
limited to implementation of accommodations, Behavior Intervention Plans, and other related

Monitor the safety of all and actively supervise students at all times.

Maintain appropriate records and follow required procedures and practices for grading and
progress reporting in a timely manner.

Maintain regular, on-time attendance.

Monitor appropriate use and care of equipment, materials, and facilities.

Coordinate and coach Special Olympics and after-school programs.

REQUIREMENTS:
Master’s degree preferred. Bachelor’s degree accepted. ï‚· Current MSDE certification or eligibility for MSDE licensure in the area of Physical Education with Special Education endorsement. CAPE Certification preferred. ï‚· Experience teaching physical education to students with learning disabilities and behavior challenges a plus. ï‚· All candidates must be willing to drive their own vehicle or school vehicle for school purposes as well as pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite Applications. ï‚· Must be creative, organized, and highly motivated with the ability to work independently as well as work with a team.

​Must have or be eligible for Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) teacher certification in physical education; CAPE Certification preferred

Immediate, Full Time, Permanent Position

St. Elizabeth School is a nonpublic, special education school serving students grades 1 – 12, ages 6- 21. The School is seeking a Classroom Assistant to join our dynamic team.
The starting pay for Classroom Assistants is between $26,400-$28,200 (non-degreed), $28,200-$29,900 (Associate’s degree), or $29,900-$31,700 (Bachelor’s degree). Classroom Assistants have guaranteed hours and are paid for snow days, school holidays, winter and spring break, and additional other non-working days during the 11-month school year.
May serve as a teaching assistant, program assistant, and/or one-to-one assistant.
FUNCTION:​
Assists with:

Escort and monitor students during the change of class

Behavior management and student support throughout the school day

Attend and participate in general staff meetings, weekly team meetings, conferences and in-services.
