Remembering Susan Murray
It is with great sorrow that we share with the St. Elizabeth School community the passing of our dear friend and Transition Program Coordinator, Susan L. Murray, who was involved in a single-car accident on September 14, 2018.
In addition to her role at St. Elizabeth School, Sue was a devoted mother of two daughters and her step-daughter, and the beloved wife to her husband, Nelson. A pillar of the special needs community, Sue has helped countless students and their families over the span of her career and was also on the Board of Itineris Baltimore, worked for MANSEF, and served as a consultant to the Maryland State Department of Education.
As we navigate this time as a school community, our priority is taking care of our students and one another. Counselors will be meeting with students in small groups or individually, as needed, to process this sad news and provide needed support. Because we all grieve in our own time, counselors will also be available in the coming weeks to provide support to families and students.
There are no words to express the depth of this loss to our school. Sue was so much more to us than a co-worker. She was a trusted friend and a dear family member as well. Please join us in keeping Sue’s family in your thoughts and prayers at this very difficult time.
