It is the goal of St. Elizabeth School to assist students in reaching their occupational preferences and potential. The faculty provides highly individualized and creative approaches for all students enabling them to develop the work-related skills, behaviors and attitudes they will need to become successful working adults. This important process begins upon enrollment and continues in both the middle school and high school programs.
JOB TRAINING
St. Elizabeth School is committed to providing effective job-training. The primary responsibility of the St. Elizabeth School Transition Specialists is to locate job-training opportunities and provide support for our students in the community. Our goal is to engage students in a variety of job-training opportunities so they will:
· Have a better understanding of their job preferences. · Understand and meet employer expectations. · Increase their marketability.
St. Elizabeth School works with businesses in the community that have demonstrated a commitment to teach students the fundamentals of a job. Job supervisors provide detailed work evaluations that are sent home quarterly. Students review their progress and develop personal job-training goals for themselves with the assistance of faculty advisors. As goals are accomplished, students choose new goals.
Among our many Community Business Partners who provide job-training opportunities are:
